| Long Umbrellas, telescopic umbrellas and golf umbrellas | | In rainy Malaysia,it's good to have your umbrella ready to help brave yourself home. There are many types of umbrellas. Some like the golf umbrellas as it is big enough to cover two persons in the event of rain. The telescopic ones are always carried by women in their bags and taken out when rain fell. Long umbrellas are carried mostly my men in business suits.Some of these long umbrellas are elegant. They are always in black.A friend of mine says golf umbrellas are great. However, he feels that they are heavier to carry around. What kinds of umbrella do you carry around and what is the reason for your preference? | |

It was standard attire to carry an umbrella in those Victorian times.Now, it is just a functional piece we carry around in case it pours rain from high heaven.But guess, what the umbrellas these days don't last They have a flimsy structure and the stem is weak. Go out on a stormy day and the umbrella will just break up under the wind and tumultuous rain. The worse culprits are the foldable umbrellas. | Do You Use Umbrellas on Hot Summer Days? | | Do you use umbrellas when it's hot and sunny outside for shade and to keep cool? Especially, to protect from overexposure to the sun?
I do because I care about my skin! If I'm out between 12 noon and 5pm (usually that's when the sun is hazardous then) and it's hot and sunny, I would take my umbrella with me. Even when I go shopping and park my car, I use my umbrella to walk to the store and back to my car. I also would use it when I walk around the city too. Some people look at me because they might think it's weird. But hey! At least, I'm underneath a shade, while they are baking and roasting under the sun!
Along time ago, most women use umbrellas for shades. Now, not enough people use them because it's not the style and if they use it, maybe they would feel self conscious about it! Hats are good too, but it only covers most of your face. Whereas, umbrellas cover your face, neck, arms and hands. | |
