| Have you ever fixing your appliances by smacking them? | | Let say, your tv suddenly has no picture, or maybe your radio just produce the static noise, and then you try to see if the cable plug in right or maybe the remote not right, or the tune in button is loose. After sometimes, you give up and SMACK this appliances...suddenly voila it works again, picture come back on.
I just did that this afternoon. My daughters try to catch a disney movie, suddenly, no picture coming on. I check everything, did everything properly as the manual book said in troubleshooting area. I got so frustated, and I just SMACK that TV out of frustation, and BAM picture come back on.
Have you ever do that, or maybe you always do it when your appliances get crancky little bit?

| unplugged appliances still draw electric power. true? | | is this really true? only old people are the ones saying this but if this is the case then i guess a lot of households are not really saving up when it comes to having a limited no. of hours when it comes to tv watching or computer use. i thought only remote controlled appliances are the ones drawing on electrical power even if they are not in use. this sort of saving by pulling the cord happened to me once when i decided to pull the plug of the washing machine. it was almost 200 pesos saved on the bill. not to mention the fact that am not sure if i did this on the beginning of the monthly electricity charge. the saving was just $4 but it was still savings. but then this coincided with the cold months so i thought it was just the lesser use of the cooling system in the house. imagine if all the plugs of all the appliances in the house would be pulled whenever we would leave the house. imagine the amount of money we'd save. not to mention saving electricity is helping planet earth. | |
| | New Appliances | | Well it seemed it was my turn at a major appliance breaking down etc. LMidweek my fridge died on me. It had happened prior but started to work again after awhile. Turns out the compressor was fried. It started kicking out hot air inside instead of cold. So we went to the nearby Sears Outlet Store near us. They sell new appliances for a great discount as they are either returns, defective, or scratched and or dented. Mine has a slight imperfection on the finish of the freezer door. We got this fridge for about 35% off the regular price of the same model flawless. We have also bought a washing machine and dryer there so far in the past 6 years. Do you shop at Outlet STores for major things such as this? What was the itme you purchasede?

Why not aid the hurting appliance industry? The appliance industry is hurting just as much as the auto industry. After that we can have cash for TV, cash for boats, and even cash for dog houses!
