| | Eyeshield 21 | | The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolves around a physically unassuming and non-assertive boy named Sena Kobayakawa (小早川 瀬那, Kobayakawa Sena?) who enters the high school of his choice, Deimon Private Senior High School (泥門高等学校, Deimon Kōtōgakkō?), where his childhood friend Mamori Anezaki (姉崎 まもり, Anezaki Mamori?), one year older than Sena, already attends. His only remarkable physical abilities are his running speed, dodging techniques, and intense agility (perfect for football), the result of a school life spent complying with the demands of bullies (later on it is revealed that he went through training with a classmate in elementary school for running), quickly catch the eye of the high school's American football team captain Yoichi Hiruma (蛭魔 妖一, Hiruma Yōichi?) who then forces Sena to join the team (Deimon Devil Bats) as the running back.
To protect his identity (on the premise that other school sports teams will try to recruit Sena upon discovering his athletic skill) Sena is forced to publicly assume the role of team secretary, and enter the field wearing a helmet equipped with a green-tinted eyeshield in order to hide his features under the pseudonym of "Eyeshield 21." | | | What are your top3 recommended anime? and give some brief description | | 1. Eyeshield 21 - American football, comedy, has a very funny quarterback (Hiruma! Ya-Ha!)
2. Deathnote - has a supernatural notebook that can kill anyone just by writing the name on the note and picturing the face.
3. Kenichi - a boy being bullied, but then learns different kind fighting styles in a Dojo.

| | Anyone else watching One Outs? | | I was just wondering if anyone else here is watching this anime. What do you think of it? Like it? Hate it? I'd like to hear your opinion. The "One Out" refers to a form of a baseball gambling game that Tokuchi Toua is the king of. He ends up losing a match against Kojima Hiromichi, a pro player for the Lycaons and gets dragged into playing pro ball as the teams pitcher. He then goes and makes a really crazy contract with the owner of the team. It basically states that the owner will pay him 5,000,000 yen for every out he pictures but he'll pay the owner 10 times that amount for every point he gives up. My first thought was that Tokuchi looks a lot like Hiruma from Eyeshield 21. It's like his long lost twin or something. Tokuchi's a laid back guy but he's also very cunning. Then there was the whole narrating thing that reminded me of the anime, Akagi. What an odd mix. I think the thing that keeps me watching is to see the owner's expressions when he finds out that he's been played by Tokuchi. It's so hilarious. | |
| | | | Any good sports anime/manga? | | I am once again in my sports genre phase but I'm at a loss for what to watch or even read. I've gone through so many different sports series lately and it seems like I'm finally running out of things to read/watch. So, I'm here asking for help from fellow anime/manga fans on myLot to recommend me something. I don't really care if it's too sappy or serious or even what type of sport it's about. All that matters is that it's about some kind of sport.
